About
DeZines by Zahra is a new company that I, Zahra, am starting. I am a 60-year-old widow. I have worked in insurance underwriting and sales, retail, daycare, and preparing dubbas. Dubbas are food, more specifically, lunches which are delivered to workers in India. I used to sew as a younger woman. I converted to Islam on 28th Safar (March 17th 2007). My conversion story is a process in itself. I found that lots of the clothing worn to the mosques really is not available widely except on the internet. Also there are no sewing patterns for abayas and jilbabs…at least not patterns such as made by Butterick. With lots of encouragement from friends, I decided to try to make patterns to sell. My blog will tell of my adventures of learning to make patterns and learning about the industry.
As I love to talk and you are a captive audience as it were, I will probably go on about life in general and my life in particular.

I love to sew to, I saw on Dara’s blog that you are going to be offering patterns. I am looking forward to seeing your selection. I would like to sugest that printing your patterns on a heavy paper would be a good Idea to save the pattern for future or multi uses.
thanx
